Vortex Drift is a platformer/space shooter hybrid in the style of retro console games of the 80s/90s. 16x16 tiles with a 320x240 screen resolution, 30fps. Inspired heavily from games like Mega Man

Journey across the universe to save humanity from a race of cyborg aliens. Pilot your mech warrior in a semi-linear path, with challenging platforming levels and arcade style space shooter stages. This is a casual adventure with a difficulty ranging from easy to moderate. Game length is short with an average playtime of 2.5 hours. How fast can you speedrun it?

The game is actually pretty cool! One thing though, I was playing on the keyboard, and it was not immediately apparent that question mark key was to fire the weapon, took me like 10 minutes to figure it out hah. Nice little retro platformer!
Also I think I ran into a little bug, I was fighting this, and I jumped on the boxes, and then the sprite disappeared and I hear a banging sound repeating. I don't know if it's because I ran out of life or whatever at that point, but just thought I'd let you know. Thanks!
thanks. there might be a bug at death state. checking it out!. still playable just dont die LOL or reset game on death for now. fixing it now
yea good point. i didnt design it with keyboard in mind but ill make a little guide for that stuff. thanks for playin!
I actually like it, it's a good game! I'm actually working with a good friend trying to make a game like this, but more detailed and specific with story/theme, but even using the same engine, etc. I'm glad you shared the link for it.
So if by chance you'd like to work together/collaborate or something, please let me know.
If not, no worries either. I know we all got busy lives going in different directions, no pressure.
i already started working on my next project. I am open to ideas for working together on something. My main passion is making retro pixel art. the games are basically a platform for me to give it some purpose. Im not sure what i can contribute, but im open to hear ideas.
